Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Yonda websites (, ), mobile applications, and API services (collectively, the “Platform”).
The Yonda source code and ecosystem software are provided under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0.
- You are free to inspect, contribute to, and use Yonda for personal, educational, and community non-profit storytelling purposes.
- Any commercial exploitation, redistribution as part of a paid product or service, or monetization requires an explicit commercial agreement with Blake Carter ().
- The Licensor retains all rights, title, trademarks, and intellectual property.
2. Road Safety and Driver Responsibility Disclaimer
Safety First: Yonda is designed exclusively for automated, hands-free background audio operation.
- Do Not Interact While Driving: Drivers must set their preferences, modes, and playlists before operating a vehicle.
- Obey Local Laws: Drivers are solely responsible for operating their vehicle safely and complying with all road safety and distracted driving laws in their jurisdiction.
- Navigational Independence: Yonda is a storytelling companion, not an emergency navigation system. Always cross-reference directions and conditions with primary navigation tools (e.g., Google Maps, Apple Maps) and official road signs.
3. Indigenous Cultural Knowledge and Stewardship (ICIP)
Yonda is deeply dedicated to the respectful handling of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).
- Cultural stories, sacred geography, and traditional place names are stewarded by verified community elders and institutional curators.
- Users agree not to post, alter, or disrespect sacred cultural material, traditional songs, or restricted cultural lore.
- Content that violates customary laws or respectful portrayal guidelines will be removed promptly upon notification by authorized community representatives.
4. User-Generated and AI-Synthesized Content
- AI Synthesis: Portions of the audio commentary and trivia are automatically generated or summarized by large language models. While we strive for accuracy, AI narratives may occasionally contain errors or historical approximations.
- Community Submissions: By submitting stories, photos, or geotags to the public pool, you grant Yonda a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host and broadcast the submission for community storytelling.
- Prohibited Conduct: You must not submit defamatory, unlawful, abusive, or infringing material.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind. In no event shall Blake Carter, drksci, or project contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the platform.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
